Typical Accountabilities:
• Either project manages a group of staff ensuring delivery of statistical contributions or as a regional expert supports assessments and research within a specialist area of Physicians
• Provides, as an expert, strategic physician expertise to quantify the benefits, risks, value and uncertainty of clinical trails
• Oversees or provides expert technical support to AstraZeneca clients on a regional and potentially global basis
• Develops, builds or acts as a specialist within a cross-functional, multi-skilled team from a number of scientific disciplines which may include project management
• Leads or oversees a diverse range of initiatives to improve quality, integrity of information interpretation, cost or time
• Ensures efficient and effective leadership and management of project information, strategy, quality standards, and integrity of information interpretation
• Manages or provides expert guidance on advanced clinical trials
• Represents AstraZeneca and its Physicians at external events
• Networks with colleagues and experts, providing statistical consultancy in own area of expertise and serving as a resource for others by sharing experience within and beyond project team and Statistics function
• Investigates and develop leading-edge statistical or quantitative approaches and provides statistical support for novel informatics approaches in the evaluation of patient safety bodies
• Keeps own knowledge of best practices and new relevant developments up to date
• Ensures that all work is carried out with regards to AstraZeneca standards and external regulations

Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
• Essential: Bachelor’s degree in medicine; Significant experience as a physician; Experience of management and deign of clinical trials
• Desirable: Extensive general medical knowledge; Extensive experience in managing or designing clinical trials which require close monitoring
