Typical Accountabilities
- Product Strategy & Vision: Define and champion the product development for AI/digital solutions in clinical operations, aligning with broader R&D and business goals. Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and user research to identify opportunities and unmet needs for AI applications in areas such as patient recruitment, site selection, clinical document management, and trial monitoring.
- Product Lifecycle Management: Manage the end-to-end product lifecycle from ideation, through development, to launch, and post-launch optimization for AI-driven solutions. Gather and prioritize product and user requirements, translating them into clear and actionable product specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria. Work closely with data science and engineering teams to ensure successful development and timely delivery of AI/digital products. Define and monitor key product performance indicators (KPIs) and user feedback to drive continuous improvement and iterate on product features.
- Cross-functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Management: Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders across clinical operations, IT, BPO, legal, compliance and other relevant functions to ensure alignment and successful product adoption. Communicate product vision, progress, and challenges to stakeholders at various levels. Facilitate change management and drive adoption of new AI/digital solutions within clinical operations.
- Innovation & Domain Expertise: Stay abreast of the latest advancements in AI/ML technologies, data science, and their applications within the pharmaceutical industry, particularly in clinical operation. Understand the regulatory landscape (e.g. data privacy) impacting AI/digital solutions in clinical operations. Identify and evaluate opportunities for process optimization and innovation within clinical operations through the application of AI.
Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Essential
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Biotechnology, Pharmacy, Life Sciences or a related discipline.
- Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in product management, with a focus on AI, data-driven products, or technology solutions.
- OR relevant experience in clinical operations project management, clinical data management, or other R&D functions within the pharmaceutical/biotech industry coupled with a strong aptitude and passion for AI and technology.
Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of product management principles and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum).
- Fundamental understanding of AI concepts, machine learning, data analytics, and their applications.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with and influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
- Ability to translate business needs or IT capabilities into product requirements and technical specifications.
- Understanding of the drug development process and clinical trial lifecycle.
- Fluent in both oral and written English.
