Introduction to Role:
Join our dynamic team at AstraZeneca as Director Procurement Excellence. As a key member of APAC Regional Procurement Business Operations team, you will report directly to the Director, APAC Business Planning & Operations Procurement (PMO), This role offers an opportunity to contribute to portfolio management and operational excellence within APAC procurement. This role will closely align with the global strategy and operations team (S&OE).
Expertise in Procurement and business will be instrumental in delivering excellence in this role.
By partnering with various Regional and Global Procurement teams, this position is contributing and supporting Director, APAC Business Planning & Operations for coordinating and facilitating change management initiatives related to procurement transformation, managing and overseeing operational governance, ensuring effective communication, stakeholder engagement, and working with global process owners to ensure the adoption of new processes and systems.
Typical Accountabilities:
This role will contribute and lead the regional projects, program and drive change in below areas under leadership of Director, APAC Business Planning & Operations Procurement (PMO) :
Planning & Performance:
Support Regional Head of Commercial Procurement APAC translate the business and Global procurement strategic vision into the long-, mid- and short-term goals/plans.
Take ownership and work with procurement leadership team on regional plan, KPI, Strategic Portfolio development with regular tracking of progress and reporting on risks/issues and mitigation plans.
Implement, monitor and report the APAC Procurement finance framework in line with the Global Procurement definitions and reporting, running regular financial status reviews
Manage and coordinate all APAC Commercial Procurement area financial business processes, including quarterly spend and savings reporting , the annual Mid Term Plans (MTP) and monthly Budget Management (run cost and Travel and Expense (T&E) oversight and tracking). Centrally manages T&E budget for APAC Procurement LT, including forecasts and approval controls.
Drive consistency, improving and tracking of the Procurement Operating Model within -the commercial APAC team.
Lead preparation and support the regular strategic Procurement Business Review Meeting
Ad-hoc support for critical initiatives as project management expert
Support the planning, managing, and monitoring of procurement governance and performance and projects from concepts to implementation, or provides expert technical support to procurement team
Provide support to procurement on a day-to-day basis ensuring adequate support and advice on procurement processes and systems
Participate in activities across multiple areas and teams, ensuring that agreed priorities are carried out and delivered on time
Analyse information to determine project requirements, determines best procurement arrangements and agrees action plan with project stakeholders
Keep up to date knowledge of best practices and new developments of processes and systems and shares with the team as necessary
Support trouble shooting activities to resolve existing problems, make informed judgements and anticipate future developments in AstraZeneca’s Procurement related needs
Support on-going change management and continuous improvement and development for functions
Ensure adherence to Health, Safety and Environment of own work and work of other employees
Business Partnering
Collaborate with Global Procurement’s central Strategy & Operational Excellence (S&OE) team and other Head of Procurement teams on programs (e.g. sustainability, system implementation etc.,) process improvements, obtaining insights and performance metrics to enable informed decision-making regarding the execution of strategy for APAC Procurement.
Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
Degree or equivalent qualification in relevant discipline
Procurement experience in procurement (preferably in Portfolio Management Operation)
Project management qualification
Extensive experience in strategy development and business planning
Extensive experience in risk management and effective communication of risks to senior stakeholders
Excellent Presentation skill (including document generation)
Ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders within AstraZeneca
