Key Responsibilities 
Short-term 
1. Production Planning & Capacity Optimization – offline (since Q4 2025) 30%
•    Analyze production schedules and capacity utilization to forecast financial impacts (e.g., under/over-absorption of fixed costs).
•    Model lead time dynamics (material procurement, manufacturing cycles, QC release) to optimize working capital and reduce inventory costs.
•    Collaborate with Supply Chain to align financial planning with production volumes, bottlenecks, and capacity constraints.
2. SAP Implementation Support – Inventory Model (since Q4 2025) 40%
•    Partner with IT and finance teams to design SAP workflows tailored to Gracell’s operations.
•    Validate master data (cost centers, activity types, routing) and test costing scenarios during SAP rollout.
•    Train site staff on SAP cost module usage and reporting.
3. Capex Management (since Q1 2026) 20%
•    Regularly review and update the budget to reflect changes in project scope, costs, and timelines.
•    Monitor actual spending against the budget and provide timely reports on variances.
•    Conduct thorough financial analyses of proposed capital projects to assess their feasibility and return on investment.
•    Provide recommendations to senior management on project approvals based on financial viability, strategic importance, and risk assessment.
•    Ensure that all projects are in compliance with company policies and procedures.
•    Track the progress of ongoing capital projects to ensure they are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
•    Identify and address any issues or risks that may impact project delivery and take appropriate corrective actions.
4. Controllership related (since Q1 2026) 10%
•    Preparation of local statutory reports (monthly, yearly, etc. Period 13 adjustment, etc.)
•    Control implementation (BS/PL review, etc.)
•    Statistic report preparation and submission for Gracell SZ entities 
•     Interaction with local gov. stakeholder for local subsidy, query, etc.
Long-term
5. SAP costing system setup and Integration (expected H2 2026)
Own the end-to-end design, build, and integration of SAP costing capabilities to enable accurate product cost calculation, inventory valuation, profitability analysis, and compliant financial reporting. Partner with Finance, Operations, and IT to deliver a scalable, well-controlled solution aligned to business strategy.
6. Cost Accounting & Analysis – SAP based (since H2 2026)
•    Develop and maintain standard costing models for clinical products, including raw materials, labor, and overhead allocation.
•    Conduct monthly variance analysis:
o    PPV (Purchase Price Variance): Track material cost deviations vs. standards.
o    POV (Production Output Variance): Analyze yield/efficiency gaps in manufacturing.
o    COV (Cost of Variance): Quantify total financial impact of production deviations.
•    Reconcile inventory valuations (WIP, finished goods) and ensure GAAP/IFRS compliance.
7. Financial Controls & Reporting (on-going)
•    Establish site-level KPIs: cost per unit, scrap rates, OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness).
•    Prepare monthly performance dashboards linking production metrics (e.g., throughput, cycle time) to financial outcomes.
•    Identify cost-saving opportunities (e.g., waste reduction, supplier renegotiation).
8. Cross-Functional Collaboration (on-going)
•    Work with Manufacturing/Operations to align cost models with production processes.
•    Support QC/QA teams in quantifying financial impacts of deviations or batch failures.
•    Liaise with AstraZeneca’s central finance team on policies, audits, and integration.

Essential Skills    
Experience of clinical manufacturing and inventory management.  
Proficiency in financial software (SAP) and Microsoft Excel, Power Point    
Effective communication, both written and verbal, with English fluency.    
Problem solving & collaborative working.     
Ability to build relationships with good communication & interpersonal skills across levels.

Persistence, determination and resilience.   
Ability to adapt to constantly changing needs with an open and constructive mindset.    
Minimum Bachelor degree, MBA preferred. Relevant 5+ year of experience.     
Deep analytical thinking. Experience developing business cases and use of decision support tools and mentoring others in their development and use.    
 

Desirable Skills

Experience of working in a global pharmaceutical organisation/ understanding of the drug development life cycle and/or commercial aspects.

Qualified finance professional with experience working as Finance Business Partner with exposure to senior management.
