Expertize the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) strategy and execution for electric vehicle powertrain systems, including battery systems (HVS), e-Drive motor (eAM), power electronics (Inverter/OBC). Ensure compliance with global EMC standards while optimizing system performance and reliability throughout the product lifecycle.
Major Responsibilities:
- Lead electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) design, validation, and compliance for high-voltage electric vehicle powertrain systems, including battery systems (HVS), e-Drive motor (eAM), power electronics (Inverter/OBC), and related control modules.
- Develop and execute EMC test plans aligned with international standards (e.g., CISPR 25) and BMW specific requirements, covering component-level validation and vehicle-level integration.
- Perform root-cause analysis and mitigation of EMC-related failures in HV/LV systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams (hardware, software, mechanical) and Tier 1 suppliers to implement design optimizations.
- Manage EMC project timelines, risk assessments, and technical escalations, ensuring compliance with product launch milestones and regulatory certifications.
- Self-reliant preparation and documentation of reports incl. evaluations and conclusions for components development and other functions counterparts.

Qualifications:
- Education / Degree: Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electromagnetics, or related field; PhD preferred for advanced simulation roles.
- Proficiency in EMC simulation tools (ANSYS HFSS, CST Suite) and test instrumentation (spectrum analyzers, LISNs, chamber testing).
- Understanding of HV powertrain architecture and various special characteristics in all aspects.
- Profound knowledge in the relevant Electric Powertrain properties an various influencing parameters and their effects on electric safety, functional safety, EMC or thermal management.
- Be familiar with safety relevant standards especially for the Battery packs, e.g. ISO26262, GB/T 34590, ISO6469, GB/T 38031 and so on and EMC standards, e.g. CISPR22, CISPR25, ISO7637 and so on.
- Process knowledge in component function development, simulation, calibration and/or testing, idealy for HV battery pack development.
Assertiveness, initiative and motivation;
- High flexibility in a high dynamic environment.
- Fluent in technical English for global engineering collaboration and documentation.
Experience:
- Minimum 4 years of hands-on EMC engineering experience in automotive electrification, with proven expertise in HV components (≥400V) and traction inverter systems.
- Proficiency in EMC simulation tools (ANSYS HFSS, CST Suite) and test instrumentation (spectrum analyzers, LISNs, chamber testing).
- Several years of experience on Electric Powertrain functions development; Profound knowledge on various influencing parameters and their effects on electric safety, functional safety, EMC or thermal management.
- Good knowledge about quality management and purchasing processes.
- Project management skills;
- Experience with international companies.
