BMW is driving the development of automated driving vehicles as one of its main areas of focus. The BMW Automated Driving Team China, is part of the BMW automated driving development network, and thus requires skillfull and versatile engineers and project managers.

This position at BMW Automated Driving Team China focuses on certain Automated Parking functions. It will be the main representative of the corresponding Automated Parking functions in China as well as the main interface to the function responsible team in Germany. The key responsibility is the execution of the function development project in China and the deployment of the target functions in the Chinese market, by means of investigating the situation in China, consolidating the function definition with the counter partners in Germany, executing technical development activities in China, and rollout of the final products.

Major Responsibilities

• Evaluation of the technology status in the Chinese market, forcast of the technical trend, formulation of BMW development proposal.
• Execution of function development activities in China and coordination of project forces across teams.
• Reporting of project status and escalation of problems.
• Evaluation of the product maturity.
• Rollout of the target product in the Chinese market.

Qualifications

• Master in Computer Science, SW Engineering or equivalent.
• Deep understanding of the technology status of Automated Driving/Parking in the industry and familiar with the status of major players in the Chinese market.
• Deep understanding of overall Automated Driving/Parking system effechain including the working principles of the major components.
• Experienced with Automated Driving/Parking function development processes and fluent on technical project management.
• Familiar with project lifecycles and software processes. Good understanding of software-/system architecture and system design
• Usage, deployment and improvement of distributed, big data systems targeting automated driving applications.
• Capable of working in a dynamic and challenging environment.
• Good communication skills, good language skills in Chinese and English (written and oral); German language skills optional and appreciated.
