Responsibility for every engineering aspect during localization projects in China and in Asia along the nomination and product development process for dedicated powertrain system and the related charging equipment from scouting, via nomination, SOP and in series production phase.

Support SE-/ BE-teams in preparation of decisions. Coordinate topics with local suppliers, e.g. timeline and validation.

Local supplier qualification from an engineering aspect and build-up of a qualified supplier pool in Asia for conventional and electric powertrain systems and components.

Ensure efficient communication of technical issues and support discussions with and at local suppliers as also with internal partners.

Major Responsibilities

• Planning, execution and documentation of technical evaluation of suppliers and sub-suppliers, of their R&D capabilities and of current technology know-how. Market analysis and market screening for local suppliers in China and Asia in cooperation with the purchasing, quality and logistic department.
• Planning, execution and documentation of on site evaluation from an engineering point, especially for prototype manufacturing, production- and test- facilities at suppliers and sub-suppliers.
• Monitoring of timing plan and validation schedules. Interpretation and assessment of development progress and test results from suppliers. Assess and evaluate development steps, take corrective action if necessary.
• Local support for the SE teams in Munich incl. technical changes and China specific part validation.
• Self-reliant preparation and documentation of reports incl. evaluations and conclusions and recommendations. Support of the purchasing department in the selection of suppliers and the conception of contracts.
• Responsibility for written and spoken communication with Chinese suppliers. Planning, execution and documentation of benchmarking activities of local Asian suppliers for relevant components and systems.

Education / Degree:

• Engineering degree (master, or bachelor with international study) in electrical or automotive engineering or similar.
