The New Product Development Lead – China will be responsible for introducing new products from the Global as well as from the local China innovation pipelines into the Chinese market.
He/she will leverage both the Sanofi Development Centers network as well as external development partners (CDMOs) based in China. Responsibilities cover the entire innovation life cycle, starting with participating in innovation workshops, producing working prototypes, and leading scale up of lab batches to pilot and production batches. In addition, the candidate must be able to incorporate the necessary safety, clinical, and regulatory aspects into the projects, reviewing technical documentation and development reports, conducting gap analysis vs Chinese CDE (Center of Drug Evaluation) requirements and recommending corrective actions.
The candidate will also be able to translate insights in consumer/markets into technical opportunities. He/she will demonstrate a high level of technical skill, leadership of partnering with external and internal cross functional teams, and project management aptitude. He/she must be a team player who can communicate on technical subjects with non-technical colleagues.
Chinese and English Languages are mandatory.
Main responsibilities:
Key Working Relationships
Education: Advanced degree in Chemistry, Biology, Pharmaceutical sciences or other Healthcare Sciences required. B.S. – minimum 10 years’ experience, M.S – minimum 6 years’ experience, PhD-minimum 3 years will be considered.
Experience:
Experience in New Product Development in OTC /Pharmaceuticals for the Chinese Market, with track record of successfully developing and launching new products in solid, semi-solid and liquid product forms.
Knowledge of Chinese CDE (Center of Drug Evaluation) CMC requirements and experience in reviewing technical documentation and development reports, conducting gap analysis vs. CDE requirements, and recommending corrective actions. Experience in reviewing deficiency letters and taking corrective actions.
Experience in developing relationship and successful completing product development projects with CDMOs in China.
Experience with New Product Development in Cosmetics and Food Supplements would be a plus.
Special Requirements: Position is located in Shanghai China. Some business travel required (estimated 20%). English and Chinese languages are a must.
