The role is a business partner for the pertinent business, functions and entities, by providing quality and efficient legal support to such business, functions and entities.

Main responsibilities:

  • Act as a Legal business partner for target business/function teams (including without limitation Commercial Alliance, M&S, Corporate Functions) and entities (including without limitation Amulet) in Sanofi China, working closely with business teams and cross functions to provide legal advice for daily operations and implementation of projects (as instructed and supervised by line manager);
  • Develop bilingual templates of contacts or other legal documents for daily business operations and projects;
  • Monitor a thorough understanding of the legal environment development, perform legal research, communicate with  various government authorities to understand the most recent regulatory developments, and advise business and functions on the legal interpretation, implications and opportunities for the company's operations;
  • Coordinate effectively with other team members to identify the specific needs and maintain consistency of legal standards to meet local requirements with minimized and manageable legal risks;
  • Under the supervision of line manager, establish, review and improve legal-related policies and procedures to be in line with the development of business operation, the guideline of global policies and applicable laws and regulations;
  • Provide legal support on company law matters;
  • Handle legal disputes through negotiation, mediation or litigation;
  • Monitor and supervise external counsels;
  • Provide legal training to staff;
  • Other tasks as designated by line manager or function head.

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years legal practice in a reputable law firm or multi-national company; familiar with foreign direct  investment, commercial transaction and general corporate work

Soft skills:

- Self-motivated, hard-working, detail-minded, clear thinker, quick learner, team player and ability   to work independently under pressure with minimum supervision;

- Excellent communication skills in both English and Chinese (written &verbal);

Technical skills:

- PRC Bar Qualification is a must;

- Good understanding of PRC law, sound business acumen and practically oriented, ability to identify and resolve legal issues efficiently and effectively, ability to provide solution-oriented legal advices;

Education:

Bachelor degree in PRC law or above

Preferred:

In-house counsel experience in pharmaceutical industry, familiar with operations of pharmaceutical companies, including without limitation manufacturing, supply and commercialization of pharmaceutical products
