Medical - Associate Director Real World Investigator

JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to China Head of RWE, the Real world investigator will work closely with colleagues from specific Medical therauputic areas (TAs), Business units (BUs), and R&D, to identify and prioritize RWE gaps, advise and/or lead innovative RWE projects, and generate reliable and scientifically sound RWE to support key business priorities.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Note: The list below is not comprehensive; this job is also responsible for other duties as assigned.

  • Interacts with stakeholders to identify and prioritize data gaps, and align with local teams and HQ counterparts on appropriate strategies and methods to meet those gaps;
  • Do literature review and meta-analysis if needed to understand existing evidences; follow processes to propose RWE projects when necessary;
  • Accountable as project delivery lead for coordination of strategic development, design, planning and delivery of innovative RWE programs to agreed timelines, quality and budget, using appropriate data, analytical expertise, and rigorous methodology
  • Ensure local SOPs and global RWE governance processes are followed.
  • Identify and evaluate existing external databases and research partners for potential collaboration on RWE projects;
  • Perform other duties, as assigned

REQUIRED EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND AND JOB-RELATED EXPERIENCE:

  • Doctoral Degree in Epidemiology or closely related discipline with at least 1 years of professional work experience managing observational studies and application of RWE in the R&D and/or commercial setting; or Master degree with at least 3 years of relevant work experience;
  • Deep understanding of the purpose and need for real world evaluation; and good understanding of strength and limitations of RWE/observational studies
  • Familiarity with one or more Disease and/or Therapy Areas
  • Significant experience working closely with at least one other functional area (e.g. Discovery, Development, Global Marketing, Marketing Companies)
  • Good project management skills and ability to lead a multi-functional team
  • Excellent networking and influencing skills
  • Ability to communicate in a credible and confident manner
