Sanofi has decided to invest into a new large state-of-the art facility for Insulin Drug Substance in Beijing, China. For this green field operation, we’re enhancing our legacy of excellence and build on decades of expertise on the whole value chain of insulin manufacturing. The new facility will be designed as a fully automated, green, modern, and state-of-the-art biologics facility. A large global and highly cross-functional program organization will be established to lead and execute the program until commercial routine manufacturing.

The mission includes the following activities:

As part of the project, the mission consists of ensuring the role of project management assistance on all Structures and Second Works. It is recalled that the responsibility for design and sizing is the responsibility of engineering, the role of the AMO is to verify the adequacy of the need for the project and the sanofi standard.

  • Ensure that the technical file under its system, issued by External Engineering, meets the expression of the need, in collaboration with all the departments associated with the project (SQO, HSE, technical management, production, etc.) Among others:
  • Verify that the sizing of the facilities corresponds to the need of the project.
  • Verify the necessary diagrams and plans (PID, layouts, etc.) corresponds to our construction standards and meets as needed
  • Verifying the technical and functional specifications of the facilities meets our construction standards and meets our needs
  • Ensure that the important points of local regulations related to diciplin are respected (GBU).
  • Verify the interface data provided to other trades not falling under internal engineering coordination (process interface, for example)
  • Establishes monitoring of comments issued to engineering and ensures their consideration.
  • Contribute to technical reviews and monitor the implementation of actions.
  • Monitors progress against the schedule, alerts the Building/Utilities business leader in the event of drift and proposes corrective actions
  • Manage the interface with the local regulation/control officer, each time is needed
  • Ensures reporting of tasks to the Building/Utilities Business Leader on all the information necessary for the smooth running of the project

  • Medium voltage power supply
  • Medium voltage switchgear
  • Transformer stations
  • Main low voltage switchboards
  • Low voltage distribution (400V) including all general low voltage switchboards
  • Production and distribution of uninterruptible power (including UPS)
  • Grounding circuits (M.A.L.T) and equipotential bonding
  • Lightning protection
  • Indoor/ outdoor lighting
  • Emergency lighting
  • Low voltage distribution (power outlets)
  • Photovoltaic power generation and distribution system

About you

Experience

  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with pharmaceutical industry regulations, including HSE and China standards. 
  • Project Management: Proficiency in planning, executing projects. 
  • Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of engineering & maintenance principles on manufacturing processes. 
  • Excellent problem solver and able to generate innovative a digital solution to improve efficiency.

Soft skills

  • Collaborate effectively with peers, stakeholders, partners across the organization to positively impact business results.
  • Act for innovation, initiating new and improved ways of working.
  • Open minded and curios to learn new tools.

Technical skills

  • In depth knowledge in Building and Electrical
  • Experience in managing Engineering contracts & facility start-up
  • Experience in problem solver and able to generate innovative a solution to improve efficiency
  • Collaborate effectively across the organization and build strong relationships to positively impact project results
  • Experience managing large, complex facilities operations
  • Experience in integrated Commissioning activities for Pharma process.

Education

  • BS or MS required in an Engineering or Electrical discipline
  • Minimum of 10 years of electrical experience in Biologics, Pharmaceutical or regulated industry

Languages

  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral) in English and Chinese (Mandarin)
  • French and/or German are a plus
