POSITION OVERVIEW

The Patient Engagement Head will lead and shape the overall patient engagement strategy for Sanofi China, building and managing a team of Patient Engagement Leads covering different functional areas. This role is responsible for driving the development of a unified patient engagement framework and operating model, ensuring alignment with global strategy while adapting to local market needs in China, all within established compliance and ethical boundaries.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Strategy & Governance

• Develop and maintain the Sanofi China Unified Patient Engagement Framework through data-driven insights within established compliance boundaries

• Define standards, KPIs, compliance guardrails, and approval criteria for all non-promotional patient-facing initiatives

• Provide strategic direction and governance oversight for all patient engagement activities

• Collaborate with senior leadership to integrate patient engagement into overall business strategy while ensuring ethical practices

 

Platform & Shared Services

• Oversee the design, build, and operation of related Digital Platform

• Lead the development of standardized and compliant Access Solutions Toolkit for BU adoption

• Ensure platform scalability, innovation, and compliance with data protection laws to meet evolving patient needs

• Implement proper review processes for all digital content

 

External Ecosystem Management

• Lead and cultivate transparent and compliant strategic external partnerships

• Commission and synthesize patient insights research through approved channels and with proper consent mechanisms

• Represent Sanofi China in external patient engagement forums and industry events in accordance with company stakeholders

 

TA Tailored Patient Engagement

• Guide team in developing patient segmentation strategies across therapeutic areas

• Enhance touch points of multichannel to improve disease awareness

• Ensure consistency, quality, and compliance across all TA-specific patient engagement programs

 

Capability Building & Enablement

• Develop reusable assets and frameworks to enable scalable patient engagement across therapeutic areas and business units

• Design and deliver comprehensive training programs for cross-functional teams to build organizational capabilities in patient engagement best practices and compliant execution

• Build and develop a high-performing team, foster a culture of innovation, patient-centricity, ethical conduct, and continuous improvement

KEY REQUIREMENTS

 

Education

•     Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred in healthcare, business, marketing, or related field

 

Experience & knowledge & Competencies:

·       10+ years pharmaceutical/healthcare/MNC industry experience with focus on patient engagement, advocacy, and digital health initiatives

·       Proven strategic planning and operational execution capabilities with cross-functional collaboration success

·       Fluent in English and Mandarin (written and verbal)

·       Deep understanding of China healthcare ecosystem, patient journey, advocacy landscape and market access environment

·       Strategic thinking with strong leadership, stakeholder management and influencing skills at senior levels

·       Project management expertise with data-driven decision making and change management capabilities
