Purpose

Responsible for end-to-end production operations and supply chain management for External Manufacturing Sites serving China market. Ensure seamless production planning, manufacturing oversight, and supply chain execution across CMO network in adherence to Sanofi standards and NMPA regulations while driving operational excellence and supply continuity.

Performance Standards: Duties & Responsibilities

1. Production Operations & Supply Chain

1. Oversee production planning and scheduling across CMOs aligned with demand forecasts

2. Manage inventory control per Global policy with focus on China market dynamics and Min-Max coverage

3. Monitor CMO KPIs including OTIF, CSL, production yield, capacity utilization, and rupture prevention

4. Coordinate cross-border logistics, customs clearance, and ensure master data correctness in all systems

2. Quality & Compliance

1. Ensure all production activities comply with NMPA regulations and Sanofi quality standards

2. Coordinate vendor audits, CMO site inspections, and ensure MSAs are in place and renewed on time

3. Manage rejection/write-off activities, conduct physical stock audits, and review GMP documentation

4. Support regulatory inspections and implement CAPA for production deviations

3. Person In Plant (PIP)

1. Act as Sanofi's Person In Plant (PIP) during production campaigns at CMO sites

2. Maintain on-site presence during manufacturing runs to monitor production activities in real time

3. Ensure CMO adherence to Sanofi standards, SOPs, and GMP requirements throughout campaigns

4. Report on campaign progress, deviations, and provide post-campaign visit reports

4. Process Optimization & New Product Launches

1. Identify and implement COGS improvement projects and drive process standardization

2. Support sourcing case development for new products and coordinate tech transfer activities

3. Ensure material arrangement and timely delivery of launch quantities

4. Optimize production batch sizes, manufacturing cycles, and drive continuous improvement

5. Budget & Cost Management

1. Support budgetary processes by providing volume forecasts and production plans

2. Monitor production costs, variances, and cost-saving initiatives

3. Manage VAT compliance and minimize tax liabilities for external manufacturing sites

4. Provide weekly updates to senior management on supply status and cost performance

6. Vendor & CMO Management

1. Manage relationships with CMOs, API vendors, and packaging material suppliers

2. Conduct regular CMO site visits and prepare comprehensive visit reports

3. Monitor CMO performance against contractual obligations and SLAs

4. Facilitate Monthly S&OP meetings and Technical Committees with CMOs

7. Cross-functional Coordination

1. Active participation in Monthly S&OP meetings with affiliates and commercial teams

2. Coordinate with China regulatory affairs team for NMPA compliance matters

3. Collaborate with Quality counterpart for smooth CMO supplies and issue resolution

4. Ensure timely implementation of MRP price revisions and artwork changes

8. Deputation of Responsibility

In absence, decision making for production and supply chain matters is upward delegated to N+1

About you 任职资格:

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies

• Production & Supply Chain: Extensive knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing operations, production planning, supply chain management, and inventory optimization

• Quality & Compliance: Strong understanding of GMP, NMPA regulations, and pharmaceutical quality systems

• Systems & Tools: SAP MM/PP modules, Kinaxis, SCEYE, production planning tools, data analytics platforms

• China Market: Deep understanding of China pharmaceutical market, regulatory landscape, and business practices

• Cross-border Operations: Experience with import/export procedures, customs regulations, and international logistics

• Language: Fluent in Mandarin (written and spoken) and English

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Chemical Engineering, or related scientific discipline (required); Master's degree or MBA with focus on Operations/Supply Chain Management (preferred)

• Experience: Minimum 10-12 years in Pharmaceutical Industry; at least 3-5 years in leadership roles managing production and/or supply chain functions; proven experience in China pharmaceutical market with knowledge of NMPA regulations; experience managing CMO networks and external manufacturing operations

Any Other Requirements

• Proficiency in E-pricing, Adobe E-sign, Qualipso, production planning software, and analytics tools

• Strong data analysis capabilities, KPI tracking, and performance reporting

• Willingness to travel frequently (30-40%) to CMO sites across China

• Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or Supply Chain certifications preferred
