Purpose of Job:

Understanding the technology ecosystem relevant to Swire Properties and sharing relevant strategic insights to senior management. Evaluating strategic investment opportunities in technology companies. Liaising with promising startups, accelerators and venture capital funds. Helping source and compare high impact technology solutions for Swire Properties' business units.

Major Responsibilities and Objectives:

• Performing screening and due diligence of tech companies (technology, products, business models, financials, etc.) that are strategically relevant and impactful to Swire Properties businesses, focusing mainly on Chinese mainland;

• Working with auditing and legal professionals on financial and legal due diligence, closing and conducting post-deal portfolio management of venture deals mainly focusing on Chinese mainland;

• Sourcing, vetting and managing venture capital fund investment opportunities in Chinese mainland;

• Constantly keeping up with technology trends and real estate innovation insights with team members and senior management team, by reading industry reports, attending conferences and connecting with startups, accelerators and venture capital firms;

• Assisting team with preparation of progress/budget reports and communication to New Ventures' steering group;

Skills, Qualifications and Experience Requirements:

• University graduate in Business Administration, Finance, Information Technology, or related disciplines;

• 1-2 years' experience, preferably in venture capital, technology investing or management consulting;

• Knowledge of real estate industry and market is preferred;

• Fluent spoken and written Mandarin required; English skills are preferred;

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required;

• Passion and interest in emerging technology and start-ups are preferred;

Based in Shanghai, with frequent travel to other places globally
